This Valedictorian Reveals Her Deepest Secret During Her Graduation Speech and Gets a Standing Ovation

Larissa Martinez is one of those real deals where they’re crazy smart but still work insanely hard to achieve their full potential. She just graduated with a 3.95 GPA and that’s with taking 17 AP classes. She was the class valedictorian and was asked to give a speech, but no one expected her to share her secret.


Larissa was abused by her alcoholic father until she was 11, that’s when her mother had had enough. Her mother took her and her sister and fled Mexico and came to America. She lived her whole life only telling a few people about her undocumented status, that is, until today.

She chose to share her secret with the entire school during her valedictorian speech. Watch the Yale bound teen bring the graduating class to their feet:
